Black PeRSONS
in the bible
First, let’s establish, that according to Jeremiah 13:23, God created the black man. That means that the black man is in the image of God.
Moses’ wife is considered by some Bible Commentators to be black. However: “The wife of Moses was not black, but her complexion was somewhat darker than the Hebrews.” 1SP:286; 1BC:1113.1. Moses’ wife Zipporah, was a Midianite, daughter of Jethro, meaning she was of Arab origin, and therefore, not of a “black” complexion at all.
However, the Ethiopian eunuch (see Acts 8:27 and onward), whom Phillip was sent to by our Lord, is considered to be Black (most likely, or obviously, being from Ethiopia), thus evangelizing the Black peoples of Africa at that time.
Look up other places in Scripture where, “Ethiopia” or “Ethiopian,” is found and you can cross reference from there to find other places in God’s Word where the Black race comes to play (such as Num. 12:1; 2Ki. 19:9; 2Ch. 12:3; 14:9; Psa. 68:31; Isa. 37:9; especially Jer. 13:23; 38:7 & 10; 39:16).
However, let us remember Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female [and there is neither black, nor white, nor red, nor yellow]: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
