The Fruits Of The Spirit)

C) A LIST OF GIFTS.
A) WHY THE GIFTS
Why are these “gifts” given? “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12. Any other use of these “gifts” can be considered as not a “Gift of The Spirit.” Also that: “(18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” Ephesians 1:18-19.
And a little common sense. Even our Mormon friends figured this out. I quote from “Mormon,” 9:9: “For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in Him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing? And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being?” And “Mormon,” 9:19: “And behold, I say unto you He changeth not; if so He would cease to be God, and He ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles.”

“And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put It upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.” (25) “And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and gave It unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.” Numbers 11:17, 25.
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people. . . And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.” First Kings 3:9, 11-12.

“Different gifts are imparted to different ones [WHY?], that the workers may feel their need of one another. God bestows these gifts, and they are employed in His service, not to glorify the possessor, not to uplift man, but to [WHY?] uplift the world’s Redeemer.” ST, March 15, 1910.
