A) INTRODUCTION

Always bear in mind that our God created from literally “nothing.”  According to Genesis 1:2, we have this phrase,  “without form and void.”  The Hebrew word for “without form” is, “tohuw.”  Examples:  Job 6:18 & Job 26:7.  The Hebrew word for “void” is, “bohuw” as seen in Jeremiah 4:23.  There, as in Jeremiah 4:23, are the only occurrences of these two Hebrew words together.  When these two Hebrew words are together the meaning is clear.  When they are apart they have various meanings.  Therefore, when they are together, the meaning is that God created without any available materials.  When compared to Psalm 33:6 & 9; Jeremiah 51:15 & 16; Romans 4:17; Hebrews 11:3, we can clearly see that Scripture is teaching us that God did not use previously existing material in order to create this earth.  God spoke, and it was.  This is what makes Him God, something nothing, no one, no entity, no created being can do.  If you cannot understand this concept, please read Job 38:4-6.  Note also that the angelic host were witnesses of this event (see Job 38:7; in other words, Satan has no excuse).

Consider also Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He hath made every thing beautiful in His time:  also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”

Also, we must realize that according to First John 1:5, “God is light.”  Meaning, that since Genesis 1:2 tells us that there was “darkness” and “water,” which is Hydrogen and oxygen, our God had this open space in which to place our universe; and that He had created darkness, hydrogen, and oxygen, prior to everything else He is going to create on “Day One” in this space.

B) A BREAKDOWN OF THE DAYS

DAY 1 = LIGHT.

1.  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3.  And God said, Let there be light:  and there was light.

4.  And God saw the light, that it was good:  and God divided the light from the darkness.

5.  And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.  And the evening and the morning were the firstday.

DAY 2 = FIRMAMENT; DIVIDED WATERS; OXYGEN; HYDROGEN [= FIRST HEAVEN].

6.  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.  NOTE:  Since there is now “waters,” “OXYGEN” and “HYDROGEN,” is also created (H2O).

7.  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament:  and it was so.

8.  And God called the firmament Heaven.  And the evening and the morning were the second day.

DAY 3 = DRY LAND [= EARTH]; SEAS; GRASS; HERB YIELDING SEED; FRUIT TREES.

9.  And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear:  and it was so.

10.  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas:  and God saw that it was good.

11.  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth:  and it was so.

12.  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:  and God saw that it was good.

13.  And the evening and the morning were the third day.

DAY 4 = LIGHTS [= SUN; MOON; STARS = IN SECOND HEAVEN].

14.  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15.  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth:  and it was so.

16.  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night:  He made the stars also.

17.  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18.  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness:  and God saw that it was good.

19.  And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

DAY 5 = FOWL [= BIRDS FOR THE FIRST HEAVEN]; WHALES [ALL WATER DWELLERS].

20.  And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21.  And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind:  and God saw that it was good.

22.  And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23.  And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

DAY 6 = CREATURES [ANIMALS]; CREEPERS {EVERY LAND DWELLER]; MANKIND; GARDEN OF EDEN; TREE OF LIFE; TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL; RIVER OF LIFE.

24.  And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind:  and it was so.

25.  And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:  and God saw that it was good.

26.  And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness:  and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepethupon the earth.

27.  So God created man in His Own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

28.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:  and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over he the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29.  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30.  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat:  and it was so.

31.  And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.  And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2:8.  And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed.

2:9.  And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

2:10.  And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

NOTE:  I believe we can find Jesus in the Biblical accounts if we are willing to look for Him.  Let’s have a look.

Day One records the “Light of the universe” = Jesus.

Day Two records the “Waters of life” = Jesus.

Day Three records the “Dry Land” and the things that come forth out of it = Jesus is our “First-fruits.”

Day Four records the “Light of the world” = Jesus.

Day Five records from the “waters (fish) to the skies (birds)” = Jesus’ Resurrection.

Day Six records “land creatures and mankind” and the “garden eastward in Eden” and the two make a choice trees, and four “river[s]” = Jesus Creates total harmony if you will let Him; but gives you a choice not to let Him.

Also,  Let’s break it down another way:

Day One; God Forms The Light;

Day Four; God Fills The Light With The Sun, Stars, and Moon;

Day Two; God Forms The Sky And Waters;

Day Five; God Fills The Sky And Waters With The Birds And Fish;

Day Three; God Forms The Land And Plants;

Day Six; God Fills The Land With Animals And Man Who Eat The Plants.

C) CREATION EVOLUTIONISTS

Creation Evolutionists insist upon there being thousands, if not millions of years between each day.  If that is so, please explain to me:

How could the plants live without sunlight for more than a thousand years (plants day 3, lights day 4)?

How did the plants (created on day 3) exist without the pollinating bees (created on day six)?

How did the plants live without CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) emitted by the animals (plants day 3, animals day 6)?  Granted, this question may be invalid as our earth was totally different before the flood than it is now.

D) EVENING AND MORNING

Genesis 1:5 & 8 & 13 & 19 & 23 & 31:  “evening” / “morning” = See my Bible Study:  “YOME, THE HEBREW WORD FOR DAY,” for a full explanation.

The Hebrew word for “evening” is “Ereb,” meaning:  “dusk; day; even (ing, tide); night.”  The Hebrew word for “morning” is “Boqer,” meaning:  “dawn (as the break of day); generally morning:  day, early, morning, morrow.”  The word “day” in Hebrew is “Yowm/Yome.”  “Yowm” is from an unused root meaning:  “to be hot; a day (as in the warm hours), whether literally (from sunrise to sunset or from one sunset to the next), or figuratively (such as a space of time defined by an associated term).”

WHEN THESE THREE HEBREW WORDS ARE TOGETHER (evening, morning, a number, i.e., such as first, second, etcetera) IN ONE PHRASE, WE CAN KNOW THAT GOD CREATED IN A LITERAL 24-HOUR PERIOD!  One Hebrew word by itself is questionable, two is very probable, but with THREE there is NO QUESTION as to it being a literal 24-hour day.

In addition, in the Bible, when a numeral is used before the word “day,” such as here, i.e., “first day,” “second day,” etcetera, it always denotes a literal twenty-four-hour day period, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.  Without a preceding numerical expression, such as in “our day,” an indefinite or certain time period covering many days or years may be deduced.  Thus, we can be certain that when God’s Word uses a numeral before the word “day,” it is without exceptiona twenty-four-hour time period and excludes any amount of additional days.

From my favorite Bible Commentator:  “I was then carried back to creation and was shown that the first week, in which God performed the work of creation in six days and rested on the seventh day, was just like every other week.  The great God in His days of creation and day of rest, measured off the first cycle as a sample for successive weeks till the close of time. . . God gives us the productions of His work at the close of each literal day.  Each day was accounted of Him a generation, because every day He generated or produced some new portion of His work.  On the seventh day of the first week God rested from His work, and then blessed the day of His rest, and set it apart for the use of man.  The weekly cycle of seven literal days, six for labor, and the seventh for rest, which has been preserved and brought down through Bible history, originated in the great facts of the first seven days. . . we understand the record of creation to mean literal days. . . the week of seven literal days. . . God accomplished the work of creation in six literal days.”  3SG:90; ST, March 20, 1879; 1SP:85; PP:112.
