A) INTRODUCTION
In an interesting note, there are 235 plants mentioned in the Bible. About 200 of them are now in oil form.
EZEKIEL 47:12 = “And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”

SPIKENARD = Song Of Solomon 1:12; 4:13, 14; Mark 14:3; John 12:3. Note: Spikenard is a sedative, and this was used to calm oneself down. Not that our Lord wasn’t calm within Himself, but this would certainly have helped Him, knowing that the cross was before Him.
