Reasons Why Churches Fail
NOTE: THESE ARE NOT IN ORDER.
1) Friendship Issues = Many poles have proved this to be the NUMBER ONE REASON why people leave the church, and that is if a new person does not make any friendships within their first 3 months of attendance, they leave and NEVER come back.
2) The Seven Last Words Of The Church = “We’ve Never Done It That Way Before!!!” In other words, “We are not open to change.” Especially if their doctrine is found to be in error.
3) Entertainment = Entertainment may keep and attract more people, but these people are not Biblically based, and in most cases, do not want to be, such as being constantly asked to pay a faithful Biblical Tithe. In other words, the Entertainment no longer holds them.
4) Doctrine = They learn that their doctrine is wrong (may even realize they joined a cult; see my Bible Study: “CULTS, HOW TO RECOGNIZE A”). They find out it is wrong; or even more so, never learned their own doctrine in the first place; especially when challenged to defend their faith.
5) Lack Of Doctrine = This usually attracts the multitudes, for there is no accountability, you are your own god, you decide what is right and wrong, therefore you keep switching churches until you find friends. By contrast, THIS IS A SUCCESSFUL church. All-Be-It, there is no evangelism, conversions, Biblical teachings, defense of God, etcetera. Christians used to be thrown to the lions, burned at the stake, etcetera, for their faith. But this church requires nothing of you and you like it that way. But once you realize you are not being entertained or your friends are not really friends at all, you leave.
6) Accountability = Once the church makes a mistake and actually teaches that the Bible tells people how to live, most people have a hard time dealing with, or wanting to, change their lifestyle. And unless you have a position in the church and you are proud of it, you will leave.
7) Allowing The “World View” Into The church = This is why you joined the church; no pressure to change. However, once you realize the Bible is not the Authority, you may opt to leave.
8) Afraid To Go To Church = Parishioners are overzealous and place to much pressure on you to join or convert. The church emphasizes money over Biblical teachings and fellowship. How you dress makes you feel unwelcome; do you have tattoos, do you not measure up in some way, or you cannot afford the clothing, or you are asked to support the church more than you are already. Or, nobody speaks to you; or you can’t get a break from everyone bothering you. Fear that people will not like who you are. Being Shunned.
9) Once In The Church = Atmosphere is just not right. Preaching is dry; music is boring; greeter is
disinterested; you cannot see yourself as fitting into one of the church’s clicks or people groups; you are not the right color.
